O'Connell to Appear on Wind Tunnel with Dave Despain, Sunday, 9 p.m. EDT

Corvette Racing Driver in Live Interview After Runner-Up Finish in GT2 Debut at Mid-Ohio ALMS

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. - The satellite uplink truck parked in Johnny O'Connell's driveway will be the first sign that this is not an ordinary Sunday evening in Flowery Branch, Ga. O'Connell will be the subject of a live remote interview on Wind Tunnel with Dave Despain on SPEED TV at 9-10 p.m. EDT on Sunday, August 9. The show will be replayed at 9 a.m. EDT on Monday, August 10.

O'Connell and teammate Jan Magnussen drove the new-generation No. 3 Compuware Corvette C6.R to a runner-up finish in the GT2 class at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Saturday's American Le Mans Series Acura Sports Car Challenge. The sixth round of the ALMS marked the competition debut of the GT2 version of the championship-winning Corvette C6.R. Oliver Gavin and Olivier Beretta finished fourth in the sister No. 4 Compuware Corvette C6.R.

O'Connell has been a Corvette Racing driver since 2001. He is a three-time ALMS GT1 champion with 37 career ALMS victories. He holds the series' records for the most starts, the most podium finishes, the most top-five finishes, and the most top-10 finishes. In March, he scored a record eighth win in the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, and in June he became the first American driver to notch four class wins in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
